It is the highpoint of the Church’s year because it is
the central proclamation and celebration of Jesus’ resurrection,
with baptism at its heart.
Please come along to support Lorraine Crusham, Danielle Perella
and Paul Frampton who are to be baptised and Alyson Lindsay,

THE UNION
Thought for the Week
“Blessings on the King who comes, in the name of the Lord! Peace
in heaven and glory in the highest heavens!”
This is the song of the whole group of disciples as Jesus
entered into Jerusalem on a colt, and it is our song of entry into Holy
Week. It is a song which doesn’t sit easy for we know Jesus was
to suffer and die, but echoing in our minds also we need the words sent
to Martha and Mary in last week’s Gospel on Jesus hearing of the
sickness and immanent death of Lazarus, “This sickness will not
end in death but in God’s glory, and through it the Son of God will
glorified.” And, we also would do well, however our Lent has gone,
to keep the image, set by our Bishop as we entered the Season of Lent,
of the prodigal son returning to the father.
May our season of Lent culminating in Holy Week draw
us ever closer to God our Father, through the salvation gained for us
by Christ His Son.
“Christ
has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again”

Fareham
Choir Up-date
Thank you for your forbearance and understanding over recent weeks as
the choir has been alternating between 9.00am and 11.00am Masses. Diminishing
numbers in the choir brought this about. We always knew that it would
not be an ideal situation. It is apparent that this idea cannot work in
the long term. We have, therefore, reviewed the situation and discussed
it with Fr. Chris. After Easter the choir will help to lead the singing
weekly at 11.00am Mass. Derek will continue to play the organ at 9.00am
and there will be a cantor to lead the Psalm and Gospel acclamation but
there will be no choir at the Sacred Heart Church. We hope that at some
time in the future more people from the 9.00am congregation will feel
able to join the choir and maintain the musical tradition that has been
established. As ever, we would welcome new members for the choir. We meet
for practice on Tuesday evenings at 7.45pm at St Philip Howard Church.
Please call Chris Lane on 01329 310785 for more details.
