Your personal experience of family life is important. Bishop Crispian
and the other Bishops have committed themselves to finding ways to support
Family Life in the Church. First they need to know the reality of people’s
lives. Now parishes in the Diocese are organising various ways of seeking
your personal input. Leaflets have been printed with 12 starter questions.
Responses can be short to fit on the sheet or longer on extra sheets and
can be from an individual, a family, a parish group or a specially formed
group. Leaflets and fliers are at the back of the churches and on the
web site here (pdf
file).

Make
A Wish Foundation
This is an organisation that grants the wishes of children aged 3 to 18,
living with a life-threatening illness. Wishes are limited only by the
child’s imagination and can be anything – somewhere special
to visit, something special to do, someone special to meet, or something
special to own. Could you join the 500 strong team of volunteers and take
part in a fund-raising activity to support this charity, or act as a wish-granter
or help with many other activities? If so, contact Sally Sansom on 01962
820302.

THE UNION
Thought for the Week
The love that Jesus invites us to show in today’s Gospel is not
easy. There are barricades which we cannot overcome without outside help.
In leaving His disciples He is, in fact, going on a mission to overleap
these barricades. Thereby He will release a stream of spiritual life which
will enable us attain and wield a divine energy.

Fareham
Faith Festival
Once upon a time Christianity was new.
It was refreshingly different from the usual pagan practices
of the time. It promised forgiveness of sins and eternal life.
Amazingly it still does.
Even more astonishing is that there are so many people still
out there, waiting to hear our Good News. The Fareham Churches
Together have decided to try to do something about it. We aim
to bring residents and visitors to Fareham Town face-to-face
with Faith on the streets for a week in May/June next year.
It will need all our support – so please decide to be
a part of it. We will launch full details next month. Please
give your names to the Parish Office if you can help.

Thanks
from Gosport Active Group for the Visually Impaired
“As one of the beneficiaries of the Lenten Appeal, the members
of the Gosport Active Group for the Visually Impaired would like to thank
the parishioners for the support they showed. The generosity demonstrated
will assist the members of the group to participate in events and undertake
outings as well as trying new pastimes that due to cost may otherwise
have been unachievable, whilst also improving the skills they already
hold in areas such as their leisure pursuits. We believe that meeting
and undertaking activities together allows us to pass on skills, give
confidence to each other and helps all to lead a more independent and
fulfilled life, and this donation will assist us to pursue those aims.
Once again, thank you all. Chris Humphrey (GAG Secretary.)”
