THE UNION
Thought for the Week
Even though the disciples had been with Jesus for three years they did
not really know him or understand him fully. What about us? We have been
coming to Mass weekly but even so do we really know Jesus? Do we allow
his teachings to interfere with our lives? Are we afraid that by doing
so we will discover that there is a cross for us to carry? Jesus asks
us to take up our cross everyday. We all have decisions to make. We have
to choose a right way or a wrong way, an easy way or a difficult way.
The easy way is often the wrong way. Whilst the difficult way, which may
be the right choice, could result in a cross that we have to bear. Let
us make an effort to renounce ourselves, take up our cross and follow
Jesus.
