The
Easter Vigil
The Easter Vigil will take place at St Philip Howard Church on Saturday

It
is the high point of the Church’s Year because it is the central
proclamation and celebration of Jesus’ resurrection, with
baptism at its heart.
Please
come along and support Zina Hanajikova, who is to be Baptised and
John Waldron, Brian Smith and Paul Hayward who are to be received
into the full communion of the Catholic Church.
Part
of the celebration of Baptism is the renewal of our own Baptism

THE UNION
Thought for the Week
To love is to give yourself away. You can dare throw yourself into the
Pilgrimage, because God has fallen in love with you so much that He has
sent His Son into the world to bring you home.
Passion for Pilgrimage
leads us into the mystery of lostness from which we learn a new way of
loving. This is what the Season of Lent is all about. Its climax is Holy
Week. These days treasure the most solemn and momentous time in the Church’s
Year, when the love affair is revealed in all its wonder and glory. Its
message is clear and simple: God has fallen in love with you and wants
you to come home. We find ourselves in the middle of a love affair that
is leading to a strange and terrible climax called the Crucifixion…..The
kind of loving that leads to Good Friday seems crazy, foolish and even
irresponsible. Jesus turns our ideas of loving upside down. (Alan Jones
in his ‘Passion for Pilgrimage’.) Extract from The Tablet.
