THE UNION
Thought
for the Week
The centre of this gospel is not the woman or her sin of adultery, but a personal encounter with Jesus. Encountering Jesus always exposes the truth – both the woman and the crowd learn the truth about their own sins. They and we are not that different; we are all sinners who need to encounter Jesus, ask the truth about ourselves, and receive Jesus’ mercy.

The Slave Trade Act
25th March 2007 marks 200 years to the day that a Parliamentary Bill was passed to abolish the slave trade in the British Empire. The Slave Trade Act of 1807 made it illegal for British ships to be involved in the trade. However, contemporary slavery still exists and bonded labour is its most common form. Please pray for justice and equality so that the poor may have freedom.
