THE UNION

Thought for the Week
The resurrection is a mystery which we can never understand but only believe. This mystery takes us beyond all which is familiar to us to a realm where God’s glory and majesty and power lift us up to a share in the new dignity of risen life. Easter is a celebration of Jesus’ taking his rightful place in the divine kingdom of his Father where the truth of his divine being is known. Easter is also a celebration whereby we ourselves acknowledge who Christ really is – the one who shared in our humanity even to the point of accepting death, but who conquered death to raise us up to a share in his life. This new life and dignity isn’t something which can be measured or calculated or grasped. It is a freely given gift by the Divine One who has loved us from the beginning of creation, who breathed life into us, and who continues to beckon us to grow in the truth of who we are.

Parish Quilt Group
“Our quilt group are looking for more helpers. My young grandson will be joining us after Easter. So, if you would like to join and have a toddler in tow he/she will have a playmate for a couple of hours on Friday afternoons. Please phone Barbara McLachlan on 01329 239647 for more details. I only ask that if you join us and cannot come on some days due to appointments whatever, to just give me a buzz before 2.00pm on the day to let me know. This is due to sometimes no-one in the group can make it. I can then readjust my afternoon to suit.”
