Table Top Sale
The table top sale held last weekend in the Sacred Heart Hall, in aid of Adopt Sri Lanka, raised £610.00. Much appreciation and thanks to those who kindly helped at the event, to everyone who supported the sale and grateful thanks indeed to the people who generously gave donations to the Adopt Sri Lanka fund. Our commitment to Sri Lanka continues and linked with Adopt Sri Lanka, we strive to do our best to help those ‘in need’.
Thanks……
Ron Tooke and family are very appreciative of the cards, prayers and support they received from the Parish following the death of Mrs Tooke. The Requiem Mass was wonderfully attended and a fitting celebration of Maureen’s very full and productive life.
Roy Crowl would like to thank all parishioners for their cards, calls and support after his recent hip operation.

THE UNION
Thought
for the Week
The Readings at this Mass which lead us to reflect on Jesus’ Second Coming are not included in the Lectionary and proclaimed at Sunday Mass to scare us, but to prepare us. Yes, Jesus will come to judge the living and the dead. ……We know that the choices we make now determine the judgement we receive at the Second Coming. What a positive grace – to know what is coming so that we can prepare for it!
Few of us will be faced with the extreme choice the brothers in the first reading must make. Nevertheless, we, like the seven brothers, live in a world beset by evil and filled with life-threatening situations (war, poverty, hunger, natural disasters). It is hope in a future that God will provide which upholds and sustains us and guides us in the choices to be faithful to the Gospel, no matter what we face.
