Stewardship – Ministry Fayre
The Stewardship Steering group would like to invite all ministry groups in our Parish to prepare an information table for a Ministry Fayre, to be held as part of the joint Parish/School Summer Fayre, to be held on 7th June from 12.00 noon to 4.00pm. The Ministry Fayre will be held in St Philip Howard Church Hall and we would like as many groups to be represented as possible. The stall would remain for Mass the following day. The purpose of the Ministry Fayre is to inform people about the work of the groups in our Parish and to recruit new members for these groups. So far we have only had four requests for bookings. Please contact Sheelagh Pickard to book a table tel: 01329 235131 or 01329 318442.

THE UNION

Thought for the Week
In the gospel Jesus describes himself as the “living bread” given for the “life of the world.” This is what we memorialise in the Eucharist: that Jesus gives himself in his Body and Blood. Our participation in the Body and Blood of Christ demands that we, like Jesus, give ourselves for others. A core of the mystery of the Eucharist – and of ourselves – is self giving.

It is a misunderstanding to conceive of Communion as a privatised moment between “Jesus and me.” Communion with the Body and Blood of Christ compels communion with one another: “we though many, are one body.”
