Entrance Antiphons for this week

Monday - I will look after my sheep, says the Lord and I will raise up one shepherd who will pasture them. I, the Lord, will be their God.

Tuesday – I will exult for joy in the Lord, my soul rejoices in my God; for he has clothed me in the garment of salvation and robed me in the cloak of justice, like a bride adorned with her jewels.

Wednesday - The Lord is coming and will not delay; he will bring every hidden thing to light and reveal himself to every nation.

Thursday – Here is a true martyr who shed his blood for Christ; his judges could not shake him by their menaces, and so he won through to the kingdom of heaven.

Friday - The Lord is coming from heaven in splendour to visit his people, and bring them peace and eternal life.

Saturday - Come, Lord, from your cherubim throne; let us see your face and we shall be saved.

Catholic Church in Fareham and Portchester Newsletter

From Fr Pat

The anger and sadness at the moment in Ireland regarding the Ryan report in the Diocese of Dublin and the failing of Bishops to protect the most vulnerable in our society has destroyed trust in the Irish Church. Yet for the many good and spiritual men who are trying to live out their Priesthood along with the faithful laity in the midst of all the raging discussions, media attention and hyped atmosphere, it is about embracing the Cross, it is about showing what our Faith really means to us. In Ireland what we see emerging is humility and honesty.

Let us keep in our prayers this advent the priests and people of Ireland but especially the victims of abuse.

First Saturday Mass and Cathedral Vespers
