| LIVING OUR FAITH
As of Sunday 21st February we have reached our goal of £170,000 through your generous pledges and gifts. This means 80% of everything we raise over our goal comes back to our parish for use within our communities. Our total to date stands at £175,000. A big thank you to everyone who has so generously given in order to raise this amount.
Entrance Antiphons for this week
Monday - My teaching, which I have put in your mouth, will never fail, says the Lord; the gifts which you offered on my altar will be accepted.
Tuesday – Give light to my eyes, Lord, lest I sleep in death, and my enemy say: I have overcome him.
Wednesday - Do not abandon me, Lord. My God, do not go away from me! Hurry to help me, Lord, my saviour.
Thursday – Test me, O God, and know my thought; see whether I step in the wrong path, and guide me along the everlasting way.
Friday - To you, Lord, I look for protection, never let me be disgraced. You are my refuge; save me from the trap they have laid for me.
Saturday - The Lord is loving and merciful, to anger slow, and full of love; the Lord is kind to all, and compassionate to all his creatures. |

PARISH LENTEN APPEAL
Our Parish Lenten commitment with Adopt Sri Lanka for 2010 Bec, the General Manager of ASL and Mary Yuille, the education co-ordinator, are delighted that we are continuing to support their programme. Mary visited us last November and spoke about her work organising special workshops and events for school children and teacher training. The programme has been such a success with the Sri Lankan Education Dept in full support that Adopt Sri Lanka are now looking to expand their work to help children and teachers in eastern Sri Lanka in such areas as Trinco and Batticola where the “Children of War” have been so deeply affected by continued conflict. Bec writes, “By funding our projects you can feel confident that the money you raise will support and reach out to hundreds of children – it is something to be very proud of and from the bottom of my heart – Thank you.” In the light of recent extraordinary fund raising activities, we encourage you only to give what you can afford.
