DIOCESAN CHOIR
Some of you may be unsure about who can be a member of the Diocesan Choir. The Choir sings at major diocesan liturgies and is made up of singers from parishes all across the diocese. All singers are always welcome to come along to sing. You do not have to audition. Not everyone is able to come to every liturgy, so it is important that we have as large a pool of singers as possible on which to draw. There are also choir festivals from time to time, where music is sung and explored, normally ending with a liturgy incorporating the music learned during the day.
Combined Diocesan Choir Rehearsal
Sunday 27th June – a rehearsal will be held at St Stephen’s Church, Oliver’s Battery, Winchester to prepare for the following three liturgies. Start at 2.30pm end by 6.00pm. If you intend singing for any or all of the following, this rehearsal is for you:
Permanent Diaconate Ordination – Sunday 4th July, St John’s Cathedral at 2.30pm.

MARIE WOODHALL RIP
Please pray for the repose of the soul of Marie Woodhall, who died recently.
BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE
June will soon be upon us and this is the time of year when we mention the Books of Remembrance, a very sad time for many people in the Parish. Last year we received many photos of deceased family and friends, entrusted to us to be included in one of the books, people from our own Parish, who have sadly departed over the years.
This year it has been decided to start yet another book, this will be for deceased babies and children of the Parish and friends of the Parish. This we understand will be a very sensitive area for many people but we feel that anyone who has lost a baby or small child should have the opportunity to place their photo or prayer into their own Special Book.
If after you have read this, you feel you would like to send a photo etc. to be placed into one of the books, please place it in an envelope marked “Book of Remembrance” or “Children’s Book of Remembrance” together with their name etc. and also a contact number for yourself, then leave with Joan in the Parish Office.

This will be the last occasion when we will be able to call ourselves a ‘Parish’ before the Pastoral Area becomes a single Parish in September. The day will be a wonderful opportunity for us all to gather together, rain or shine, to have fun, be entertained and celebrate what we have in the Parish of Fareham and Portchester. You will be receiving more details as the event gets closer but for now please put the date in your diary.
