DAY FOR LIFE
The theme of this year’s Day for Life is Lord, for your faithful people, life is changed, not ended. It aims to present the Church’s teaching on death and will highlight the importance of the Sacrament of the Sick, of praying for the dead and of accompanying the dying person as they journey towards God. It will also point towards the consoling presence and support of the community of faith and those who ‘have gone before us marked with the sign of faith.’ There is a retiring collection this weekend to assist the work of the Anscombe Bioethics Centre and other life related activities supported by the Church.
Entrance Antiphons for this week
Monday - Praised be Joachim and Ann for the child they bore. The Lord gave them the blessing of all the nations.
Tuesday – God is in his holy dwelling; he will give a home to the lonely, he gives power and strength to his people.
Wednesday - God is in his holy dwelling; he will give a home to the lonely, he gives power and strength to his people.
Thursday – As Jesus entered a certain village a woman called Martha welcomed him into her house.
Friday - I will look after my sheep, says the Lord and I will raise up one shepherd who will pasture them. I, the Lord, will be their God.
Saturday - At the name of Jesus every knee must bend, in heaven, on earth and under the earth; every tongue should proclaim to the glory of God the Father: Jesus Christ is Lord. |

FROM JOHN MCGRATH
“I offer my heartfelt thanks to all those who helped me when I was taken ill in church last Sunday. The response was magnificent and I was very well looked after until the ambulance arrived. My wife, Zena, also wishes to thank those who kept her informed of developments, offered help and checked up on my progress. I’m pleased to say that it was no more than a faint and nothing was found to be wrong after tests at QA. It certainly brought home to me what a caring, considerate and helpful community we have in the Parish. God bless you all.” John
