Entrance Antiphons for this week

Monday - I will look after my sheep, says the Lord and I will raise up one shepherd who will pasture them. I, the Lord, will be their God.

Tuesday – God, come to my help. Lord, quickly give me assistance. You are the one who helps me and sets me free: Lord, do not be long in coming.

Wednesday - The Spirit of God is upon me; he has anointed me. He sent me to bring good news to the poor and to heal the broken-hearted.

Thursday – Hail, holy Mother! The child to whom you gave birth is the King of heaven and earth for ever.

Friday - In the shining cloud the Spirit is seen; from it the voice of the Father is heard: This is my Son, my beloved, in whom is all my delight. Listen to him.

Saturday - Extraordinary Rite Mass

NEW MISSAL TRANSLATION
You may have heard that approval has been given by Rome for the new Missal translation. This is only a generic approval for the “base text” of the Missal and not an approval for any specific country and the text is still apparently being revised, even though it has been ‘approved’ with no definite timetable for completion. Some English speaking Bishops’ Conferences have requested modifications and no one knows whether or not these requests will be granted. Approval by Rome of a specific text for England and Wales will only take place when that text is received by our Bishops’ Conference along with the specific approval for those countries. Current plans indicate that we may start to use the new texts of the Order of Mass in May 2011, with accompanying catechesis around the diocese during the period May-July. The full Missal itself may start to be used in September 2011. If approval from Rome is delayed, these dates may be put back.
